about

The long-awaited new album from British Blues/Americana stalwart Todd Sharpville. “Medication Time” explores a period in his life, 16 years ago, when a custody battle after a difficult breakup ended in a two-month hospitalization in a specialist institute in Wales. “I was not emotionally ready to be separated from my children after the divorce. Until now I was kind of 'control freak', then I realized that control is just an illusion after being hit with depression, suicidal thoughts and being committed to an institution run by the state. Men rarely discuss these kinds of emotions with each other and these emotions can often surprise us and prove to be far too much to handle. Being a musician, I was lucky enough to be able to manage my professional life around my complicated situation. I also have great friends. I managed to get back on my feet. Most people are not so lucky. Many fall to the side of the road and never get up. “Medication Time” examines and expresses many of these emotions that led to my depression, my stay in the hospital and this slow return to “normality”.

12 hard-hitting tracks (9 original songs and 3 eccentric covers) recorded in West Greenwich, Rhode Island and produced by Duke Robillard, 2-time Grammy nominee and multiple BMA winner. As well as 2 duets: one with Detroit artist Larry McCray and the other with Sugar Ray Norcia from Rhode Island.

J’ai réussi à me remettre sur pieds.
